This French Napoleon III gilt bronze inkstand features intricate openwork decoration and is surmounted by two candlesticks, positioned symmetrically above a central cartouche shield. The shield itself is adorned with elaborate scrollwork and a classical face motif. The footed base of the inkstand is equally ornate, with detailed patterns.
