This traveling inkwell shaped like an egg dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. The egg-shaped body is decorated with a stylized bird in flight across the upper portion of the egg. Floral designs adorn the surface as well. Push the button to activate a latch mechanism, allowing the top portion of the egg to open and reveal the ink reservoir housed within the bottom half.
