This rectangular shaped double inkstand is made from clear, heavy cut glass. The bottom is decorated with a starburst pattern. The inkstand has two inkwells, each fitted with a hinged sterling silver lid. The lids are circular and bear clear hallmarks indicating they were made by A & J Zimmerman in Birmingham in the year 1920. Along the front of the cut glass base is a shallow, elongated indentation that serves as a pen rest.
