This Bradley & Hubbard inkwell is an example of a design that moved away from highly ornate Victorian styles, embracing a more restrained and sleek aesthetic, typical of the early 20th century.

  • Material and Form: The inkwell is constructed entirely from brass. The inkwell features an oval or rounded base. The overall body maintains clean, simple lines.
  • Hinged Lid: A matching oval-shaped hinged lid sits flush within the top surface of the inkwell. The hinge mechanism is at the back. The lid features a subtle, stylized raised ornament.
  • Pen Rest/Channel: The recessed front area of the base could serve as a space for pens.
  • Mark: The underside clearly bears the impressed mark “BRADLEY & HUBBARD“.
