This bronze inkwell depicts a snake slithering through and biting an apple. The snake’s body is intricately detailed with scales. The apple itself is smooth and polished. The leaf on top of the apple serves as the lid for the inkwell and can be lifted to access the glass insert inside. The piece is signed “Becker,” indicating it was created by Henri Edmond Becker (1871-1971).

Sold for $400 in December 2017
